Willy was conflicted and had sat with it for a few days now. Having his heart back had been phenomenal, but the longer he had it, the more used to it he got, he found there were some feelings he didn't know how to navigate. In truth, he'd never felt like this even before he'd given it away to Charlotte.

Guilt.

What was a fae supposed to do with guilt?

Ultimately, he decided he needed a hint of what he should do. In the past Fin had been quite direct and clear and he appreciated that.

He sent the text off and then stewed about it. He wasn't going to work this out on his own.

"It's really not all that much of a bother, Will, you're just not used to giving a fuck," Fin replied.

"You make a fair point," he said. It was true and he recognized it.

"..I'll learn. It's just been so long. "

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Can I ask you something personal, WIll?" Fin asked.

[willysilver]

"If you like," he nodded.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Is there anyone in your life you currently love?" Fin asked.

[willysilver]

"No," he answered. "But I'm finding I care about what people feel and think more than I did before. I care for Remus. And Klaus. And you."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"That's good, I think. Enriching, yeah?" Fin smiled.

[willysilver]

"Enlightening, at least," he nodded. "It's still...fresh, And I don't think I was ever that considerate to begin with," Willy confessed.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Doesn't mean you can't change," Fin said softly.

[willysilver]

"That may take decades," he laughed.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"We've got that time, Will," Fin said, kicking his shoes off and pulling his feet up on the chair. "Old souls, you and I."

[willysilver]

"I don't think I'll fall in love with Remus, not even in decades," he said. "But I'll sort it out. If I could leave guilt by the wayside, I'd be happier."

"Sometimes you have to feel like shit, Will. That's just life, love," Fin laughed, smiling brightly.

[willysilver]

"There's something so satisfying about completely disregarding anything I don't like, though," he replied with a soft laugh. Unrealistic, but very true.

Fin laughed at that, bright and loud.

"I get that, I honestly do, but trust me- This is better."

[willysilver]

"What do you think is so much better about it?" he asked. Tea floated to their hands and a plate of treats settled on the sofa between them.

"When miserable things happen or hit you in the face, the good things and feelings are so much better, you know?" Fin shrugged, sipping his tea.

[willysilver]

"And you prefer the ups and downs to a steady, unwavering contentment?" he asked.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Keeps it exciting," Fin shrugged.

[willysilver]

Willy sipped his tea and thought a moment.

"I don't recall the last time anything actually excited me," he said.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"That's kind of heartbreaking, Will," Fin said softly.

[willysilver]

"There's a song in it, I'm sure," he replied.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Songs can't heal everything, mate," Fin said gently.

[willysilver]

His smile began slowly, but grew brighter and brighter.

"You'd be amazed, my friend. Can I play something for you?"

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Yeah, of course," Fin nodded. He liked Will's music, found it soothing.
