It was a beautiful day. The sun was bright, the birds harassed people for their crumbs, and children played on the playground. Willy had set up near the fountain, guitar case laying open. And he had his guitar.

He didn't need the money but he'd found if he didn't put his case down people looked at hi a bit odd. He cared not for the money, though it was nice to have.

He spied Fawn and smiled as he finished off his tune with a flourish. A few people gave him some coins and he nodded his gratitude.

"Fawn," he called as he took a seat on the edge of the fountain. He beckoned him closer while he took his bottle of water and uncapped it.

"...Yes," Fawn replied, even though he wasn't sure that was true.

"Good, then," he smiled. "How do you enjoy a home? The trooping shy from such things. Does it please you?"

[fawnthefae]

"Yes. I come home, and I have a warm bed, and no rain falls on me unless I wish it to. And we have a fridge!" he added excitedly.

The prince laughed warmly.

"All very good things. The mortal world has some wonderful things. I remember a time before refrigerators and they are delightful," he said as they entered the area of the park with thicker trees.

Fawn waved his hand, revealing the cottage and looking just a bit proud of himself.

[willysilver]

"Ah! This is charming!" Willy said brightly. He turned a proud smile on the small fae. "You've done a nice job. Show me the inside, if you please."

Fawn looked pleased and headed inside, gesturing for Will to follow.

"See? It is a good home."

[willysilver]

Willy carefully put his guitar by the door and then surveyed the home. It was quite nice. He took in the details and wandered to snoop, winding up at the refrigerator with the door open.

"And you have plenty of food. Have you domesticated yourself, little one?" he smiled.

"No! I am wild and free still," Fawn insisted. "...I just like coffee, and turkey twizzlers."

Willy's smile grew brighter and he righted himself, closing the door.

"That is good to hear. Free is best," he said.

Willy took the liberty to peek in the bedroom and wrinkled his nose.

"Not free of the warlock, though."

"John is good to me," Fawn said softly. "He orders me crispy fish and kisses me softly."

Willy shook his head, and sighed in dismay.

"Little one, did you fall in love?" he asked, almost pained.

[fawnthefae]

Fawn opened his mouth, wanting to lie- Then swallowed hard and ducked his head.

"He is good to me. He cares for me," he said quietly. "I love him."

[willysilver]

Willy scrubbed his hand over his face and shook his head.

"Fawn, my friend," he began, but paused. "Kindness isn't love. He may care for you, but he can't love you like you need. No mortal can."

"He loves me good," Fawn insisted.

[willysilver]

"It will never be enough. One of you will perish. He will wither, or you will," he cautioned.

[fawnthefae]

"But he will not lay with others," Fawn insisted. "How can I lay with others if he refuses? It will make my heart too heavy."

[willysilver]

"He has no other lovers?" he asked, a skeptical narrowing of his eyes trained on Fawn. "I don't believe that. Fin wouldn't give him up."

[fawnthefae]

"He has been traveling to see him... But no, John would not lie," Fawn insisted.

[willysilver]

"All men lie. That's what they do, Fawn. Since they came to our lands and drove us away, that's all they've ever done. Lie. And kill," Willy countered.

[fawnthefae]

"He would not lie to me," Fawn insisted.

"I will text him right now, you will see."

UR not 🍆🍆🍆 wif ne1 but me, yes? he texted, turning the phone so Will could see John's reply.

No response came. Seconds passed to minutes and Fawn's message went unread.

"He's probably with someone now," he said simply.

Fawn looked at his phone, a bit dismayed.

"No, no he is working," Fawn insisted.

"Fawn, it's for the best," Willy said as gently as he could. "You should be free. He can warm your bed, but don't give him your heart."

"But I love him," Fawn said quietly. "And who else would I lay with anyway. I have no one, he had many..."
