Fawn

It was a beautiful day. The sun was bright, the birds harassed people for their crumbs, and children played on the playground. Willy had set up near the fountain, guitar case laying open. And he had his guitar.

He didn't need the money but he'd found if he didn't put his case down people looked at hi a bit odd. He cared not for the money, though it was nice to have.

He spied Fawn and smiled as he finished off his tune with a flourish. A few people gave him some coins and he nodded his gratitude.

"Fawn," he called as he took a seat on the edge of the fountain. He beckoned him closer while he took his bottle of water and uncapped it.

"Look in your heart. What do you want, Fawn? What do you truly desire?"

"Just... To be loved. I want to be loved," Fawn said softly.

[willysilver]

Willy sat up and leaned forward. There was a softness in his eyes and his smile curved slowly.

"As do we all," he said and offered a hand to bring him closer.

[fawnthefae]

Fawn seemed unsure, but eventually moved closer.

"But love is rare."

[willysilver]

"Love is common as dew drops, and often lives just as briefly," he said, leaning closer to meet him halfway.

The fae went a bit wide-eyed, but eventually settled in even closer.

"That is a sad outlook, my friend."

[willysilver]

"All the grass knows its it has a lover every night. How is love like that sad?" Willy asked.

[fawnthefae]

"Love should last. It should linger," the young fae insisted.

[willysilver]

"For how long, little one? For how long?" he asked, pulling him close to his chest. "It comes and it goes, regular as breath."

[fawnthefae]

Fawn looked distressed by that.

"I do not want John's love to fade. I do not want to be alone again."

[willysilver]

"There will be another. There will always be another," he assured him. Willy covered Fawn's delicate hand with his own, his fingers long and slender. "Forever is for the fae."

Fawn let their fingers lace together.

"It is?" he asked.

[willysilver]

Willy thought for a moment. Thought of his dreams. Thought of the way there seemed to be a magnetic attraction between he and Fin.

"It is," he nodded and seized the opportunity to close the instance and kiss him.

He felt it. That longing. That connection. It was faint, but Willy was sure it was fate.

Startled, Fawn remained still for a moment, before slowly easing into the kiss.

It felt wrong, like he was doing a bad thing- But he couldn't bring himself to pull away despite the nagging feeling in his gut.

John would be mad. John would be hurt. Angry.

Panicked, he pulled away.

"John will hate me," he insisted, looking upset.

"He will hate you for finding love and grasping it?" Willy asked. "Surely he understands what you are. What you need..."

[fawnthefae]

"I don't know. I don't... I can't lose him, I need him," Fawn insisted softly.

[willysilver]

"Why is this mortal so important?" Willy asked. "There are others who are kind..."

[fawnthefae]

"But I love this one. I love John," Fawn insisted.

[willysilver]

"You have the capacity to love more," Willy said. "So much more. Don't restrain yourself, dove."

[fawnthefae]

"I'm not. I mean... I-"

Fawn stumbled over his words and feelings a little, unsure of what to do.

"I will not betray him, or make him unhappy. If I am to love more, then he must say it is okay, and do the same."

[willysilver]

"You choose. Tell him how it must be," he said. "Because you can't go on without suffering. And, little one, I do not wish to see you suffer."

[fawnthefae]

"Will you speak to him with me?" Fawn asked quietly. "You use words much better than I do. I trip over mine so often."

[willysilver]

"I..." he began, then stopped. He wasn't even certain John would be receptive to anything coming from him. Especially not a request to take Fawn to bed.

"I'll try, " he agreed after a moment.

[fawnthefae]

"Your kindness will be remembered," Fawn replied, touched that Willy would do this for him.

[willysilver]

Willy smiled softly and nodded.

"You are delightful," he said, and took a deep breath. Yes. I will do this for you."

He paused.

"For a kiss."
