Willy was conflicted and had sat with it for a few days now. Having his heart back had been phenomenal, but the longer he had it, the more used to it he got, he found there were some feelings he didn't know how to navigate. In truth, he'd never felt like this even before he'd given it away to Charlotte.
Guilt.
What was a fae supposed to do with guilt?
Ultimately, he decided he needed a hint of what he should do. In the past Fin had been quite direct and clear and he appreciated that.
I need you. Tell me where to meet you
He sent the text off and then stewed about it. He wasn't going to work this out on his own.

"Very much so," Fin nodded, settling back in.

It was slow and sweet to start, but began to build. As he sang, little glittering lights appeared against the ceiling and danced to the beat.
Willy abruptly stopped and gave Fin a curious little smile.
"Do you consent?" he asked simply.
no subject
Fin hesitated, then nodded a little.
"Yes," he said softly.

Willy immediately smashed his fingers against the string, making them ring loud. With the rise of the chorus, magic built and built and popped, showering Fin with a joyful euphoria. Like love, like parties, like the first taste of fresh stone fruit on a hot summer day. His voice was sweet as a bubbling spring and every word sparked such a wholesome lightness it was bliss.
When he wasn't singing, he simply smiled and watched Fin to react.

Fin smiled warmly, enjoying the show and letting the magic brighten his mood.

"If I were to perform for mortals, that's what I'd play first," he smiled, laying his guitar aside for the moment.
no subject
Fin nodded a little, not in the mood to argue the morality of using magic on mortals.
no subject
"Alas, you will have to be my captive audience," he grinned, his eyes sparkling with merriment.
With his guitar aside, Willy spread his legs and leaned forward, elbows on his knees.
"I enjoy playing for you."
no subject
"I'm sure I'm a dreadful audience," Fin laughed, "But I do like hearing you play," he added with a warm smile.
no subject
"I enjoy playing for you," he said. "It feels different than writing for a muse."
no subject
"That somehow feels like a very backhanded compliment," Fin laughed.
no subject
"It's not. Writing with Klaus...he has to approve. If he didn't, I'd start over. You...I play for you confident you're hearing the last and best song," he explained. "I like that you seem to enjoy yourself."

All Fin heard was 'you're not special', and there was nothing the fae hated more than feeling less than special.
"Oh," the fae nodded. "I do, yeah."

"Are we kin?" Fin asked. "We're not the same fae..."
no subject
"I'd like to think we are," he replied. "There aren't many of any kind who feel the way you do. Perhaps it's our bond," he shrugged. He knew how it felt; he didn't think too hard about it.
no subject
"Maybe," Fin agreed. "What do you think it means? Our bond, I mean."
no subject
"I have no idea. Whatever started it has been lost," he said with a shrug. "The details don't bother me. I'm alright simply knowing we share it."
That hadn't been the case. For a moment he'd been angry. But now he didn't feel trapped and it had changed his whole perspective.
no subject
"I just wish I knew what it means," Fin admitted, quiet for a beat, then moving to sit beside the other fae.
no subject
Willy moved a little to accommodate him, going as far as stretching out a welcoming arm.
"Why?" Willy asked. "Is it so important for you to know?"
no subject
"It's just a strange thing to carry with you without understanding, don't you think?" Fin shrugged, settling in close.
no subject
"I agree it is. I simply think it's probably been a very long time and I have little interest in chasing riddles I can't solve," he replied as he curled his arm round and held him close.
no subject
"I guess," Fin agreed, leaning into him more. "I suppose there's beauty in a good mystery."
no subject
"It's probably something quite epic to keep bringing us together," he said thoughtfully.
no subject
"Do you think? I hope it doesn't mean we'll end up on some long , dangerous quest. I could live without that, to be honest," Fin said with a lazy yawn.
