Willy had survived the chaos, delighting in the gay bit of magic. He was sitting on the deck in the sun, strumming his instrument and making up a silly little tune about some of the hijinks he had watched.
He was stuck, though, and played the same three chords over and over. Over and over, as if the rhythm of the strings might drag an idea out of him.
"Hey nonny nonny always fits," he considered aloud.

"I have found a solution. The Warlock aids me, it keeps it at bay. Keeps me well, which keeps Hex well also. It's not perfect, it's just shy of being enough, but it helps. It will do for now."

Willy hesitated then. Nyx hadn't even had time to pay one debt. The sidhe could do no more until that was settled.
He knew it would be cruel to even offer now.
"It's only a spell..." he noted casually.

"If it were vulnerable to our magic, it would be well-known how to escape such a bond. It wouldn't have been such a problem at one time. How many of our wild kin did we lose to such subjugation? Enough to reduce the population to nothing. Our methods were surely all tried, it's why the problem was solved at a table and not in battle. This cuff shouldn't even exist, they were all meant to be melted down."

That could be of use.

Date: 2024-01-16 03:09 am (UTC)"The only weakness I've seen so far," Nyx nodded. "Bond seems to genuinely care for him."

"Interesting," was all he said.
And then he selected another sweet from the tea tray.
"I wonder what is to the south..." he mused then.

He didn't move, but he was putting together a plan. He needed to put a few pieces in place first...
"None of us were made for the sea," he justified.

Date: 2024-01-18 12:34 am (UTC)"Unacceptable," Willy replied absently.
Weeks would never do. If he needed to inspire the captain, so be it.

"That might be Hex. You should go."

"Fear not, my friend," he smiled. "I see a time ahead when we are all happy."
Cryptic, but his smile was so sure it could only be true.
"I will see you again soon."

Date: 2024-01-18 01:41 am (UTC)Nyx looked concerned by that, but decided to let it be. He had a feeling Willy wasn't a man easily swayed.
"I'll see you, Will. Take care."
